Fun on the river

This is me with Joe. We are on the river today and have just stopped to get the lock gates open so that we can head back along the river to our special spot. Joe's job is to keep hold of me. For some reason they are all bothered that :

(a) I might disappear off looking for rabbits at the crucial moment, or
(b) I could jump into the lock where the water is very deep.

I think they all worry far too much!

This is a really lovely part of the River Wey. We have just journeyed alongside beautiful meadows to moor ready for going through Newark Lock. The fields to the right of this picture are covered with beautiful buttercups and provide a brilliant carpet to the ruin of Newark Priory, a 12th century priory, home to Augustinian monks until the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539.
