Ferry at Rowardennan
Have had a full day today.
Our club walk and BBQ; our coach took us to Tarbert Loch Lomond, and we caught the Cruise Loch Lomond Ferry from there to Rowardennan. It takes 45 minutes, with a commentary from the crew, and it was absolutely stunning to be on the Loch on such a bright, warm and sunny day. The ferry now stops at Rowardennan Youth Hostel, the scene of many happy weekends in my youth.
We disembarked and walked on the West Highland way to Cashel Native Forest, where some of our number had set up the BBQ. We were ready for some food after the walk, which was wonderful, the bluebells are out as well as lots of other wild flowers, and also the Rhododendrums, it was just beautiful. The path is undulating, and the 'ups' were hard on such a warm day..... but we made it, and enjoyed our BBQ with glass of wine of course.
Then we walked the rest of the way to Balmaha, where our coach was waiting. Had a short stop for drinks before heading home.
I had so many photographs, but I liked this one of arriving at Rowardennan.
A fabulous walking day!
