A first!
Spotted this wild Achillea which appeared on our lawn for the first time a few days ago when I was helping mow the lawn with Gary (another first for me but as Gary is waiting on hip surgery I thought I’d better learn!!). We’ve been trying to grow more wild flowers in our garden. I’ve often seen this Achillea (or wild yarrow as I now know) when on holiday in Cornwall and so was really pleased to see it in our garden. I’m not sure that every gardener would be particularly pleased to see it pop up in the middle of the lawn - but our lawn looks more like a field and I like wild flowers so I took care to mow around it!! I use the term gardener very loosely when describing myself - I enjoy the garden, love being in it, am getting a bit better but tend to go for the dishevelled look!!!
