Strathpeffer Victorian day.
Not my usual blip but I loved the look on this gorgeous young ladies face as she won the prize for most original costume.
We went to the Victorian day at Strathpeffer on a lovely sunny day. There was plenty to see and photograph whilst listening to the pipers.
We then went for a look round Castle Leod, home and seat of the Clan Mackenzie. An interesting Castle with it's own little ghost that runs around the castle.
In the grounds the tallest tree, a Wellingtonia, in the UK grows and the earliest known planted tree in Britain is a Spanish Chestnut planted in 1550.Both are fabulous trees with magnificent bark.
