Post Performance
We went to the Montavilla Jazz Festival's Friday night performance in the Mt. Tabor Caldera Amphitheater, which is an extinct cinder cone. James Powers, the son of an old school friend of Eric's composed one of the three pieces called "Views of an Urban Volcano," performed by the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble. Every bit of the concert was excellent, including the fabulous Mary-Sue Tobin Sextet. Plus, I ran into an old friend I knew when I lived in Ashland in over 40 years ago.
