Built to last.

Built to carry the single track line over the lane on the approach to Yealmpton station, the bridge deck was removed in the early 1960's when the rail link finally closed. Considering that the line opened in 1898, the bridge dates from this time and recently the land owner has spent time recovering the structure from nature and it now appears in splendid condition. For years it was covered in moss, ivy, a whole mass of bushes plus self seeded trees which had become mature.
