This daphne in the Rhodo Gdns is the only one of its species I've seen, and was planted some years ago by a garden supervisor who appreciated its uncommon occurrence. Called Daphne genkwa, it's native to China, and bears clusters of lilac coloured, scented tubular flowers. Next to it are a Daphne odora and a white one whose name I forget (!), making a pretty and interesting trio.
