I went for the second of the two scans I have regularly. I got to Barts a bit early so wandered over to the courtyard. There was a display marking 900 years of the hospital, continuously working on the same site for nine centuries. Wow!

The exhibition was enlightening. I had no idea William Hogarth had painted here, that Derek Jarmon had been in the AIDS ward, or that techniques for helping people with ‘word blindness’ (now known as dyslexia) were developed here. 

This hospital is such a treasure. All hospitals are treasures.
