The Cousins

A very busy day! This morning  our only cousins, Karen and Tracey, who are the  daughters of our father's brother, came to visit us from Kent. First, they met my sisters and our Mother at her care home, before they all came to our house for lunch. There were nine of us including Karen 's husband, Nick. Here are the five cousins with my Mum. We were fairly close as children being of similar age, although we lived  sixty miles away apart, so didn't meet very often. As adults we haven't  seen each other  very often, and we last all met at my father 's funeral over five years ago. So  here we are on a happier occasion.

In the evening ,Martin and I went to the local RSPB meeting for a talk on Birds of Polynesia. It was Interesting to discover that many of the islands have their own distinct  type of Reed Warblers,( which don't live in reeds), as well as stunning  Parakeets and Kingfishers,  which are  endemic to the islands.
