STAR OF NATURE

I thought this courgette flower would make a lovely blip as it does look like a huge star of nature!!!

A quiet day because this is the day G was supposed to go back to Edinburgh!!!!

I say supposed, but it wasn't to be.  We go to Oxenholme in plenty of time, checking that his train had actually left Euston and was on its way.  However not long after we got to Oxenholme there was an announcement to say his train was delayed.  This could be quite normal so I just checked on the phone.  It had been stuck in Warrington for at least 40 minutes due to "a fault on the train".  This went on for an hour.  So as we had no idea how long this was going to take and due to G's medical conditions and medications we gave up and went home.  

It turns out that the train was delayed by 1hr and 30 mins, which meant he would have arrived in Edinburgh about 10.00 pm - which is then difficult to get taxis and he would have been too late for his meds, so it was just as well that we went home.

I put in a claim for a refund, the only query so far has been for us to confirm that he books his tickets on someone else's Avanti account.  No idea what difference that makes as the train was still unacceptably delayed for us.  Hopefully though that will go through.

Now due to certain circumstance he will be with us for the weekend and now goes back on Monday - Avanti permitting.  Do so hope that happens otherwise we may have to take him up there because he has medical appointments, which he's now had to re-jig!!!  Aaah well c'est la vie!!!
