"I hope your are not terrorist sir...
... because we like our Barbican very much", very nice middle aged lady told me while I was photographing Barbican this afternoon. I have been called different things in my life but this is a first time someone mixed me up for terrorist. However in times of "Prism" nothing surprises me.
I was in Barbican to see the exhibition "The Bride and the Bachelors: Duchamp with Cage, Cunningham, Rauschenberg and Johns" . `And maybe is a stretch to link "am I terrorist question" and Duchamp but with his readymades he was taking everyday object and (without any intervention ) would turn in into object of art; and here an ordinary activity such as taking amateur photographs was (again unaltered) turned into something completely different in this case terrorism.
PS I have changed photo which I have originally posted with this one that is more relevant with another exhibition theme which is chance. Chance is in DNA of street photography and this one illustrates it nicely. If I had been closer to this couple at the time when wind has lifted the paper (with photographs of faces on it pages) and covered their faces I would have a good photo, this way it is just a so - so....
