commanded from the Bell Tower is best seen here. Ben Wyvis, some twenty miles away is visible in the background. It was rarely used as a prison, more commonly as a means of raising the alarm and built  in the seventeenth century. It is of solid stone construction , my brother’s head gives proof of this! 
Another lovely day, a little cooler, more normal, some cloud, enabling me to have a walk along the river, collect compost for the birthday bulbs and cut the grass!
