Butterflies and bees

After a lazy start, I decided to get us out early before the heat of the day. It turned out we were already too late, it was roasting!
Still, we hid in patches of shade along the way and it was beautiful by the fields of flowering crops / wild flowers. Plenty of blackberries and plums to be picked and a little bunch of flowers collected to decorate the dining table.
The kids were desperate to get out the paddling pool once we home and I couldn’t really say no in this crazy heatwave! Andrew was playing hockey; seems crazy to be doing any sport in these temperatures. Still, it made for a nice evening bbq with enough lamb chops to feed the entire street! I had already bought them but Andrew decided we needed more. I’m full now!
