Saturday market
A very pleasant, if sometimes uncomfortably hot, day. I started off with a fairly vigorous peloton workout, and then we took ourselves down the market where we had a coffee with meles and daveH and heard something about the beavers and other pleasant escapades from their wee holiday. They also brought us a print out of the article from Scottish History about the Vulcan Foundry, which we watched being excavated from our windows and balcony, but which is of course now completely covered up. Fascinating stuff. Good to learn more about the history of the place.
Mid afternoon, several domestic chores having been fettled, we went over to Campervan for a pint or two, then came back for a very basic dinner of some reheated sauce and pasta, before watching the Last Night of the Proms for probably the first time in fifteen, twenty years, mainly for the quality of the principals - Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Lise Davidsen, and Marin Alsop. I don't like the jingoism of many of the pieces, but it is quite a spectacle. Much amused by the prevalence of EU flags once again. That'll wind the narrow minded nationalists up.
