Mushroom, stoned.

Our sweet little Mushroom had to go in for surgery today to remove two bad teeth. (I know, the modern day things we do for cats!) He will be ok but he's a little hazy from the anesthesia, has two shaved spots and a bandage from having an IV, and is probably a little sore (if I remember correctly from having my wisdom teeth removed).

Mushroom has always been a very grumpy old man sort of cat. He isn't what you'd call affectionate and he only wants things the way he wants them and that's that. He has been known to yell, bite, hiss, and growl. Most people don't like him but they never get to see what a momma's boy he really is because he doesn't like company and will behave retchedly when people are over. But, this drugged out Mushroom is a totally different cat!!! He is in, what we can only imagine to be a morphine-enduced happy high where he loves everything and everyone, purrs like a maniac and is happilly rubbing himself all over the house. It's very strange, but kind of nice, and I might be sad to see it go once the pain meds are done.
