Old friend reunion

S and I used to work together in Cairo and it’s probably two years since we last met. We both happened to be returning from a Greek Island into Athens today so we met for dinner with her husband. Lovely to see them and catch up with the news.
A bit sad to leave the island today but the trip was booked before my job start date was pushed back - too expensive to change it. Never mind - a first world problem. I had an early coffee and apple pie on the beach, took the ferry then checked into the hotel for a night and joined my online training session. Then a rest before dinner. The rain had pretty much stopped but parts of the city and country had been flooded, homes destroyed etc. it’s not Greece’s year and something needs to change.
