Open day

Many of the old buildings of Kings Lynn had an open day today. There are some wonderful old buildings in Kings Lynn but my blip goes to one I have been in several times before, the library. The main blip is of the tower room which was originally the "gentleman's library", no longer open to the public (even the gentlemen) but open for a peek today. It contains books with titles such as Travels From Albania to Constantinople, very Jules Verne.
Sadly due to it not being large enough for the purpose these days it is only functioning as a library until around 2026. The local authorities have promised that the building will still be put good use benefitting the community. I hope they keep their promise.
I've included a shot of the exterior which is a classic example of local Carrstone architecture. This red stone has given the name 'gingerbread houses' to a lot of the old cottages around here.
