Squash

Not much of a squash for myself and other volunteers to enter the tent for the local 60th Horticultural Show - some amazing entries included 200+ from the local school - we escorted accredited judges around the exhibits - wrote certificates for the first three placed entries in each category for every class - whilst drinking coffee and eating warm pork pies newly delivered from local butcher -and cake that was extraneous to requirements - a tough job

All well organised - stayed on a while afterwards chatting with folk and listening to brass band playing - was mentioned that the show is like Midsummer Murders - without the murders

Was a squash in the local pub - show held in adjacent field - when torrential rain later started - it didn’t dampened people’s spirits
