Common Blue
Menorca Day 3
The Common Blues were the most omnipresent butterflies in this patch of Menorca - more or less every patch of grass or scrub that I walked into had some. I'll be going through the images checking I haven't got any Southern Brown Argus or other scarcer blues in there, but so far it looks like Common Blues all the way. This is a female, perched in the ravine down near the small beach. These should soon be emerging back home.
I also stumbled on a Painted Lady, the first I've seen since I've been more actively noticing butterflies over the past couple of years, and a few Meadow Brown, another species yet to emerge this year on the moor back home.
