Mallorcan Ikat

I read something about the Mallorca Ikat print and suddenly see it everywhere.  Some lovely colours, some a bit flat.  This was a perfectly ordinary stall in the market in Pollença making pretty well everything in sundry colours.

Up in good time and packed, taking in the market on the way to the airport. It’s a more artisanal market than Puerto de Pollença and one that it could have been fun to browse for longer.  We bought delicious local almonds, an Ikat tote bag and our travelling companion Joan bought some cushion covers.  But we had to set off for Palma and V had scouted a lovely restaurant by the airport to eat at.  Delicious local dishes cooked brilliantly.

The flight home was full of frustrating little delays and our bags just didn’t appear for an hour and half.  I think there were huge staff shortages all over Heathrow.  Home a good two hours after we thought we’d be.
