A further quest for a panorama.
Tonight I hiked up the highest rock outcropping on campus to try and catch the sunset on the mountains across the river. After having the shit scared out of me by a 3 foot long gopher snake (Google it and tell me it doesn't resemble a Rattle Snake at first glance), I found the perfect vantage point. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in and the sunset was less than spectacular. On my way back down I saw some mule deer that ran away before I could switch to my 70-300. I also came across some Opuntia cacti in fruit. Seemed that taking a picture of some native plant life was the appropriate thing to do at a botanical conference.
The mountain in the background is on the other side of the river valley.
