Beside the Point (and Shoot)

The theme for today's Mono Monday hosted by Kersti is Beside.  So here is a photo of the tow path beside the canal which runs  beside our house and we often walk beside each other along there.  Under the bridge and up the steps is The Commandery,  whose cafe garden is situated beside the canal.  On the walls of the bridge are replicas of the lances and helmets used by the soldiers during the civil war and the Battle of Worcester between Charles I and Oliver Cromwell.  The Commandery was the Roundheads' HQ.  I suppose you could say they always kept their lances beside them!

In other news: we met Jo and James at Chadbury Cafe near Evesham.  There we had a nice drink and chat, and Ann bought another plant for the patio.  The farm buildings at Chadbury had been painted with a large rural scene, the work of a local artist from Pershore.  I've put a snap in the extras.
