The Return of Pugwash
I’ve hardly sat down today, it’s been really full on, taking blood pressure, administering eye drops, providing meals and drinks, communicating with umpteen people on Smithers’ progress and so forth.
This evening I took Smithers to see his eye surgeon, who gave him a lot of time and thoroughly examined his eye. Pressure still up a bit, but I’ve given him an eye drop as instructed, which we were assured won’t have dire side effects like the last pressure reducing medication. The operation to insert the lens is still going ahead for Wednesday, but it will be more complicated and take longer than normal.
The Traveller (aka “Pugwash” amongst other names!) has landed at Heathrow and is in a taxi on his way home. It will be so good to have him back with us, he’s been away a long time. I’ve just made up his bed with fresh linen and then I will be more than ready to fall into bed once we’ve had a welcome home hug.
