Exploring hills and vales

Our route today took us to Coombe Hill, the highest point in the Chiltern Hills, with extensive views over the Aylesbury Vale and perhaps all the way to the Cotswolds.  The viewpoint is marked with a monument dedicated to the men of Buckinghamshire who died in the Boer War.  Still very hot for cycling, but we appreciated the shade of the woods whilst looking for signs and distinctive names of places (see extra).
