Mair's Walk

What a wonderful day we have had. We have been on a three mile sponsored walk from Bridgend Recreation Centre to Ogmore Farm via Merthyr Mawr and the Stepping Stones. Raising funds for Velindre Cancer Centre's lung cancer campaign, the Stepping Stones Appeal.
There is something very special about Mairs's Walk. But then there is something very special about Mair herself. Her enthusiasm's infectious and fuels the event, making it a lively couple of miles filled with chat and laughter and a warm feeling of companionship, and all for a wonderful Welsh charity.
Mair had lung cancer a few years ago and has made a full recovery.
The walk is opened every year with the releasing of 24 white doves . The walk is then lead by a celebrity, this year it was Max Boyce.
This blipfoto is of Max and myself in the marquee at the end of the walk. There is a hog roast refreshments & entertainment all afternoon.
This was the third time I have done the walk and this year J accompanied me. The weather was perfect. What a wonderful day.
