Camino Day 9
A measly 14 miles today. Left Pontevedra before sunrise, another lovely town. Grabbed breakfast on our way as the rush of early morning walkers set out. It does work really well. We were walking by 7.30 while the day was cool and had reached our next hostel just after 1. Lovely day, hills were very gentle and there was lots of shade from woodland along paths that looked as though they had been used by pilgrims for hundreds of years. I was struck by the variance in rucksacks as we walked. Some were small with apparently few contents, others were heavy with lots of paraphernalia attached. A metaphor for the journey I think. We had a pilgrim menu of the day and a bottle of wine after we had showered and done a load of washing. A bottle of wine to go with it and our aching feet seemed much better!
