House Sparrows

A nice day for gardening today, dry with some weak sunshine after a cool start. I decided today was the day to cut the hedge. I don’t like doing this in the Spring or summer when I may disturb nesting birds, but felt it was pretty safe to do so now. My resident flock of house sparrows watched from afar then as soon as I had put the hedge trimmer away, they happily took up their posts again. I may have even disturbed some insects for them to grab an easy meal!
