Damp

Having not seen many all summer it was a bit of a surprise to have a Common Blue butterfly emerge out of a very damp meadow this afternoon. Possibly last week's heat wave has brought on a third brood.

Later I travelled over to Silsden for some mid-week football. Silsden were lying second in the NCEL Premier League table while their visitors, Barton Town, were top.  A devastating first half saw Silsden race into  a 4-0 lead, leaving my golden goal ticket for the 62nd minute somewhat redundant. One more goal in the second half saw it finish 5-0 and Silsden move top. The best performance I've seen at this level in a long time.
