Hand that Nurtures

This sculpture by Llew Summers, was commissioned in 2005 and the plaque reads:
“The contrast between the solidity and weight of the solid concrete sculpture and the tenderness of feeling which it portrays makes this work special. It symbolises notions of nurturing, safety and protection as well as friendship, openness and honesty”

I love what it symbolises and like it’s setting near the children’s’ playground and with the lake and blossom trees in the background.
