Kelmarsh Hall
A trip out today with the Local History Society to Kelmarsh Hall. An elegant 18th century house set in acres of beautiful countryside. The last family to live here were the Lancasters and the house reflects the interests of both of them. While he had an interest in coal mines in Nottingham and Wales, his wife Nancy was the owner of Colefax and Fowler an influential decorating firm that codified the English Country House look. Happily yesterday’s rain had disappeared and it was a bright sunny day.
