Volcano!

We left the parador today and headed for Olot in the province of Girona. This area is part of the Zona Volcanica de la Garrotxa Natural Park. We walked up and into the crater of the Santa Margarida Volcano where there a hermitage in the middle. If you zoom in you can just see R by the hermitage (which shows the scale). The volcano last erupted 11, 000 years ago. It was very interesting to see the layers of rock too. 
We are now ensconced in a really interesting airbnb in the very centre of medieval Besalu. We will be here for 5 days to explore it's history, architecture, bridge and more volcanoes plus hopefully Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres.
