Accumulation of Artists
Our day for praying with Mireille and Dan. They wanted to meet Stephanie, who is an artist like them, so arranged to meet at her house, a former cheese factory in the middle of Mourão, which she is doing up - huge courage and hordes of hard work, and she has worked wonders.
Here they are in one part, which will be the site for an exhibition she is holding next month, on the topic of "Strange Strangers" (sounds better in Portuguese: Estrangeiros Estranhos), looking at the interaction between Mouranenses and outsiders - bear in mind that a guy from the neighbouring town who has been here maybe forty years, is still referred to as an outsider.
She is insisting that I show photos; must admit to feeling rather intimidated, as these three and others who will be contributing, are "proper artists"...
Anyway, more later, got a Family Zoom now!
OK, later... fun time in what I think was our first family zoom, basically making sure we've all caught up with each other; gets more complicated now that we're four different units.
Gratefuls:
- getting a quick trip to Spain in early, to buy steel fence posts (interesting to get the Spanish guy's take on the football guy's kiss, basically, he was wrong, but is getting copped for a whole society)
- M and D getting on so well with Stef; we ended up having lunch together at Morango Bar
- lots of laughter on the family zoom
Btw, the pipe behind them is the toilet above's outflow; it has a hole in it! Stef is thnking of putting one of those spyholes in the hole, so you can watch what comes down, as a sort of art installation; think she was joking.
