Landseer
There is currently an excellent and informative exhibition of works by Sir Edwin Landseer in Grantown Museum. Subtitled a 'Highland Romance' the exhibition focuses on Landseers relationship with his patrons the Duke and Duchess of Bedford and Queen Victoria and his work inspired by the locality - especially Glen Feshie.
The museum building was built as a Female School in 1861 - pupils had to be members of the Church of Scotland, they were taught Reading, Writing and Sewing. They paid a fee of 1d a week. My Granny attended such a school in Aberdeenshire where the fee included the provision of a peat to help with heating.,
