Salen pier
There is a new one round the headland and this one has been taken over by cormorants - 19 cormorants and 2 gulls on top of the posts. The incoming shower headed NE away from us.
The storm had mostly moved on, too, leaving a bright and windy day so a relatively sheltered walk was done, along to the end of Loch Ba (I had a pic of this end as an extra a few days ago). A track all the way, though some fords to negogiate, which went through old woods, regenerating woods and open flatlands. Lots of sheep and cows around (the latter appropriate as it's Loch of the Cows) but all minding their own business. The loch must have been a lot longer once as there's a big plain at the end and I decided to walk across a bit of it to get to the shore.
Disaster nearly followed. The groung was tussocky and churned up and I stumbled over a bit and dropped the camera - into a water-filled hole! It was immediately retrieved and shaken, the pic in extras taken and as rapid a return as possible to terra firma to get it dried out. Fortunately it didn't go right in and no water seems to have penetrated its innards.
We enjoyed the view for a while with the camera in the sun and then returned the way we'd come, with one pause to let a flock of sheep pass (so we had our lunch).
Before and after this we went to an eagle-spotting spot, I spotted a Golden eagle the second time but the White-tailed ones weren't performomg today.
Into Salen for some shopping and a visit to the lochside and a run round the head of Loch na Keal and back, later.
