Swim whilst the water's still warm

That's what I told my friends on the way to Rydal, and they agreed - it was lovely.
This afternoon I went to the James Cropper Wainwright Book Prize, held at the Brewery in Kendal.  Several highly-respected authors discussed nature writing in it's broadest sense, including diversity amongst writers and readers, the role of humanity in looking after the world, nature writing as a response to grief, politics, and whether we can afford to be hopeful for the future.  The extra includes Guy Shrubsole, who won one of the awards.
