We spent the day on the south coast and came across this lorry on the way back, at a late-night petrol station.

The drivers told us that the pigeons had been released in France at midday and would already be back in their coops at home. Unlike the drivers, who had a long way still to go.

Some pigeons don't make it. Apparently, when it rains, many come down and never get back home.
