Taking postcards

D was setting off today to walk the Camino to Santiago de Compostela from Sevilla. He's done it twice before, but starting in France. This time the route is car to Valence, then trains to Barcelona then Madrid then Sevilla. The first leg was a great opportunity for me to see more of the fabulous Vercors scenery: he drove M-O and me along a twisting route through the mountains, taking narrower roads where the wider ones were closed for repair. The blip is from Pont-en-Royans, which I visited ten years ago on the way to Choranche but had not seen from this vantage point.

After lunch with a friend of theirs in Valence (highlight: figs straight from the tree) we took D to the station to catch his first train. M-O and I drove back to Autrans the quicker and less picturesque - but still very beautiful - way.
