A dull, wet morning but the forecast was for improvement. It was about 2 o’clock when I went to Grasmere for a wander. Much less busy than on Monday, though there was a queue outside the Grasmere Gingerbread shop.

I’ve been trying to do a garden bird count but the blue tits are far too fast. There are at least 4, plus the chaffinches, coal tit(s), great tit(s), dunnock, greenfinches and robin that I mentioned earlier. I haven’t seen the jackdaws for a few days ….. either they’ve got frustrated with my feeders or someone else must be putting out food they prefer.
