A ray of light

At long last it feels as though Smithers is on the road to recovery. He’s still very tired, probably because his right eye is having to compensate for the weakness of the left eye while it heals. His brain must be working overtime to cope with all the changes!

Nevertheless he’s definitely brighter in himself, which in turn means that I feel much brighter too, as is evidenced by the fact that I actually took my camera out into the garden for the first time in a long time today, trying to capture the shafts of light streaming through the ivy in the wild garden. 

I’ve hardly sat down for a minute all day, trying to catch up with all the household jobs which went by the board while he was in hospital, but it has been a very satisfying and productive day. Just two more sets of eye drops to be administered, and then we can go up to bed.
