Camera's settings

I am a 1950's photographer with cameras where everything was set manually: the aperture, the shutter speed, the (guessed) distance to the object, and finally the shutter was wound manually. (The film was developed in a small tank, rinsed and dried, and finally put in a frame to be enlarged and printed, the paper print then developed and rinsed and dried...)

That means that I prefer to use a 'point and shoot' camera, and am lost with my 'little better' camera, the (actually quite simple) Fuji X-10 whenever I need it. Here I am trying to find settings for AUTO. 
Oh woe.
