A shady kind of day

I have noticed many Clivias in the village and have posted one previously. Their flowers seems to fade in vibrancy pretty quickly. Today I discovered many Clivias hidden behind the main office. They were all vibrant in colour AND they were all in the shade. Maybe that is the answer.

I planted two new leafy plants in part shade a couple of days ago as their label directed. In our present heat it didn’t take long before I noticed some of their leaves had become scorched by the sun. Today I replanted them in full shade. Hopefully they will be fine.
