Aloha!

Quiet day after yesterday's high jinks. Saw a friend early on and had thought about asking her for a portrait but she wasn't at her best and I see no reason to take a photo unless someone feels fabulous.

Read a lot this afternoon and eventually ventured out to Real Foods to get some tofu and soya ice cream (as you do) and one of the staff who I hadn't seen before said 'Aloha!' I replied by returning the greeting and we got talking about Hawaii and I asked if she had heard the John Prine classic Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian.

A bit later I asked if I could ask her a question. She said I could ask anything before 6 pm as long as it was within the realms of the law. After 6 pm I could ask anything at all. You can see why I wanted to take her photo but she politely declined. Evidently she doesn't want her photo or name on the Internet just in case at a later date she wants to apply for a job with the CIA. You know, she wants to keep her options open... That sounded fair to me so, in lieu of a portrait, I give you a shot of the coconuts on offer in the shop, recalling our earlier Hawaiian flavoured chat.

Afterwards I went to Los Cardos on the recommendation of fellow blipper KariDi - thanks for the delicious tip. While I was there they said that they had a deal with the two local Swedish pubs where you could eat their food in those pubs. The pubs helped the food joint to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I love that Swedes and Mexicans work together on Leith Walk.
