Sand...

It's Les Journées du Patrimoine in France this weekend, the equivalent of Open Doors in the UK, so we had a winding drive on narrow roads down into Grenoble. It seems to be combined with Art Week here and everywhere was heaving with people. We went to the Musée dauphinois, a bit of a haul up a different hill, for an exhibition of pictures on the theme of mountains. Well... let's just say there were none I would want to put on a wall of mine. Back down again for a stroll through what was the Italian quarter (when Italians were not allowed to live within the city) to the Musée archéologique Saint-Laurent. Its 6th century crypt was a lot more impressive than the artworks on display.

Then to an organ concert in the Protestant Temple.

Thanks to a wind from the south it was much warmer and stickier than forecast but I liked how the Sahara dust softened the views of the mountains.
