This was my view for most of today as we waited during mums surgery. Told two hours max, took six.
Turns out she had four spiral fractures of the femur plus a splintered hip joint. A mess. Pins and wires holding her together with no guarantee of saving the leg or being able to walk again. At best maybe weight bearing in three to six months.
What a death knell to sound to her busy sociable active life. There is no positive. Her life has changed inexorably and we have no idea how she or we are going to cope with what that means ahead.
We are all in shock and devastated for her.
Life is particularly cruel.
