Birsay big day oot raft race

Ah raft races! A staple diet of island life since time immemorial - or at least in Birsay's case, for a few years.
Great designs lashed together with fantastic skills to cross a piece of open water.
This was a daring design put together by local engineers in a clever attempt to show us all how it should be done.
Oh wid some power the Giftie gie us to see oursels as others see us - it sank within ten metres of the start!
Oh well, back to the drawing board, the engineering future of the planet is in good hands!
