Figs
There is so much fruit at the moment in people’s gardens. Our friends who have been over for two weeks have been throwing fallen figs away. They have so many they do not know what to do with them. Several of us at their barbecue this weekend, said we would like some and we duly received a bowlful. Now it will be a question of whether to make compote, jam or chutney. There was a box full of sweet grapes available for everyone at the tennis club where I played my match last night. I won that one but I think I will have reached the end of the road tonight as I play someone who is ranked much higher than me. It has been great fun though. Marie Laure very kindly offered to take Mrs TT in for her hospital checkup in Perpignan as it might have been very tight for me to return in time.
I booked some train tickets from Stansted to Cambridge in October for our bell ringing outing. When I mistakenly booked the return tickets, I accidentally clicked and paid for the journey in the wrong direction. I had to rebook the correct return tickets and then spend an hour on the phone persuading Greater Anglia to give me a refund on my typo mistake!
