Birthday curry

So, the plan was that we'd hire a place in London - a nice little boat moored up on the bank of the Thames - and have a party for Dan's twenty-first birthday.

But while he was back over the summer, we had a chat and he said that, really, he simply didn't want a fuss. Which is fair enough. As someone who enjoys a good birthday celebration, it's important for me to remember that some people don't feel the same way.

Still, Charlie and I couldn't let the day pass without observation, so while Dan had a few beers with his housemates in London, this evening she and I went to the Bengal Balti on Cromwell Road.
