1.......The barriers hold!

The water levels of the Danube in Budapest has now reached 8.91 metres, the latest reports indicate. Extensive work is still being carried out to protect as much of the city as possible, but the barriers and levees are bursting occasionally, allowing water to run out on the streets. The water levels are expected to peak within the next three hours.
7000 soldiers have been drafted in to try and make the barrier more robust after every breach.

I had a blip meet today with the lovely Ella and her daughter. I showed them around the city and they were lovely company. I wanted to show them golden Budapest at night, unfortunately due to the flooding most of the lights were off on all the bridges. They stay a few more days so I'm sure they will get to see the city lit up.

Last meal tonight with a few of the guys, in almost a week of goodbye meals, but this was the toughest, we've lived, worked, argued, travelled, trip and got drunk together over the last 3 years, we'll always keep in touch, but it's not nice leaving such good friends.

Many thanks for all the hearts, stars and concerns for my Flooded Danube capture yesterday, you're all very kind.

Monday tomorrow, I hand over the flat, fly to LHR and then drive to Wales. I hope you all have a fantastic week and a good Monday.
