Misty morning.
After last night’s thunderstorm the morning was bright. The warmth of the sun caused the mist, which I could see rising in the valley at the end of the garden. What a beautiful start to our last day.
After breakfast K took us on another walk, part of which was along the Pilgrim Way. The Route de Vézelay. Marked in places with scallop shells, but also the modern sign posts with a yellow stylised scallop shell on a blue background.
The walk took us through woods full of Spanish chestnuts, oaks, and pine trees.
Some cut to go to the saw mills.
We came across an abandoned van, by a small lake. Some old barns which would make a great ‘ project’ for anyone wanting a house in France.
Nice sculpture of a stag too.
All photos made into a collage, see extra.
It was warm and sunny as we had our last lunch on the terrace, looking over the beautiful garden. We will certainly miss this, and especially enjoying the company of our dear friends who have looked after us so well.
This has been a wonderful weeks holiday. Full of many happy memories.
Our flight home was slightly delayed due to a thunderstorm. We were very grateful to our friends and neighbours D&C for picking us up at Leeds Bradford Airport. It was fine when we reached home, but it feels cold! 12C! No doubt we will soon get used to the drop in temperature!
Welcome back to England.
