Photo weekend - Day 3

The last day of the Ameland photography weekend. I’m still not feeling that well, but it’s a bit better than yesterday.

Since there was some rain forecasted, we made sure to visit the statues of the Dike Watchers right after we had checked out of the hotel. After capturing the statues and the nearby small harbour where the current and decommissioned lifeboats of Ameland are, we returned to Nes for lunch. We timed this perfectly: as soon as we sat down, the rain started.

Since it was going to be raining all afternoon, we asked the participants what they wanted to do in the afternoon. I would have gladly showed them some Lightroom editing, but it was decided to take an earlier ferry back to Holwerd instead.

After saying goodbye to everyone, I drove home where I arrived at half past five. After a quick dinner I will be off to bed, to hopefully have some solid hours of sleep!

The image here is (of course) one of the two dike watchers. The statues were made by Frans Ram in 1991.
